After years of wearing a heavy fishing vest, my
sore neck and shoulders have driven me to come up with a better idea for
carrying my fishing tackle. The Fischer’s Fishers Master Guide Belt
Vest™ allows the weight of my vest and contents to be easily carried on
my hips and offers instant access to all my fishing materials!
The Master Guide Belt Vest is constructed from 1000 denier Cordura fabric, 2" and 3" polypropylene webbing, tough coil zippers and heavy snap release buckles. In the front of the belt are two tippet pockets with interior dividers and hook and loop pocket covers that carry six tippet spools. The tippets pass under even tension through holes in the top of the pockets for instant leader repairs. My fellow guides report saving a half hour a day of fishing downtime because their tippet material is right where it needs to be and does not tangle! The two zippered fly box pockets each hold a medium sized fly box and have hook and loop secured interior pockets for extra leaders and strike indicator materials. The right fly box pocket has a special interior divider designed to also hold a ‘Tach-It™ magnetic fly box. Left and right side pockets carry lead sinkers, fly floatant, fly dessicant, leader sink, tape measure, etc. A removable wool patch is included on the left pocket cover to hold flies. Forceps attach to a D-ring at the back of the side pocket for quick access and can be held from loss by a cable retractor reel. A materials clipper has its own pocket in the front of the vest and is instantly usable! It can’t be lost because it can be held on with a Simms coil style retractor. A rear zippered pocket holds objects like a fishing license, maps, etc. and has a hook and loop secured key pocket.
The Master Guide Belt Vest is made in even waist sizes from 32" to 40" but is adjustable to accommodate the bulk of extra clothing or waders in each size. When the belt vest is fit properly, it will slide upwards under the armpits and stay there while wading deeply. The belt vest can easily be worn under most rain gear. The vest will not get wet and heavy as Cordura fabric does not absorb much water and dries very quickly! The wide webbing belt gives some back support.
Stock color is khaki. Options include drink holders, net holsters and a removable back storage pouch. Custom sizes, colors and left handed vests are available by special order.
